1011451_10200703358680115_1801344625_nGREETINGS!

My name is Ambre and I work as a marketing coordinator for a fashion company. I graduated college a couple of years ago with a degree in Business Management and am now pursuing a career in the Marketing Realm.

Favorite food: Sushi, cheese, chocolate

Work

To give you some background information about me, I work for a small e-commerce fashion company. We are only 7 in the office which means we are all constantly working as hard as we can to find creative new ideas to help the company grow. Working in a start-up has definately opened my eyes to a whole new world where failure is not an option. I have grown up so much since I have graduated college that it becomes crazy to think that a couple of years ago, I was still a free-spirit with no concerns in the world.

School

I had the time of my life in college and graduated with a Business Management degree from the University of Santa Cruz (people were so great there and I loved the little beach town). I graduated in four years and really enjoyed e-commerce and marketing related classes. I loved them so much that I began an unpaid internship my senior year of college and now I continue to pursue marketing in hopes to one day becoming a marketing expert.

Fun

I love volleyball! I have been playing since I was in high school and to the day I still enjoy a round of Pepper once in a while. Every Friday, my boyfriend and I go on a “Date Night”. Might sound a little lame, but I think it is extremely important to take one day of the week to spice things up. 🙂 I love to cook but if I am eating out, I would choose a Japanese restaurant over anything! Finally, I love languages! I can speak English, French and Spanish fluently while I can speak a little Chinese (I lived in China for work/school for a summer).

I think that sums everything up… I am extremely looking forward to pursuing this blog and becoming engaged with many business professionals. I know I have a lot to learn so all feedback is good feedback! 🙂

    • Hi Morgan,
My boyfriend is in Finance and he loves it. I always struggled with accounting work and any sort of Math in college. 🙂 But I am pretty satisfied with the job I have now. Volleyball is amazing. Especially since I am tall, I always had an advantage.

I look forward to working with you!

      Sincerely,
      Ambre

  2. Hi Ambre,

I love sushi! If you’re ever in New York City you should check out a resturant TAO (you probably heard of it). It is simply amazing and the atmosphere is priceless. It’s sort of hard to explain, but I think you can see my passion for this place. How was living in China? You must have had a blast. It’s very impressive that you speak multiple languages, have you ever thought about a career with the FBI? lol jk, or not.

    • Hi!
I will definitely stop by that restaurant if I visit New York. I was actually there not so long ago for a fashion convention. As for living in China, it was pretty rough and aggressive. I definitely enjoy Europe and japan a lot more!

      Have an amazing evening!

  3. Hi Ambre! It’s nice to see someone just down the coast – I’m in Ventura. I wish I was fluent in so many languages. Once upon a time, I was pretty good with French, but out of practice. I’m trying to learn a little Portuguese right now for my summer trip to Brazil.

And as for sushi… have you experienced Sasabune? http://sushisasabune.tumblr.com/ I’ve been to the one in Honolulu twice and splurged on the extravagant chef’s menu. One of my top dining experiences!

Looking forward to hearing more about your marketing expertise. Thanks for the insightful posts.

    • Hi Barbara!
Languages are a hard thing to hold on to because if you don’t practice it, you could lose it. I am fortunate because my mom is French and so she only speaks french to me. My dad doesn’t speak a word of French so I only speak to him in English. Spanish is extremely similar to French but it does take me a while to speak it and I make plenty of conjugation mistakes (although I understand the language without a problem). Chinese, I have completely lost (I was never fluent to begin with but I took it throughout college).

I have never been to Sasabune! It looks great and I am definitely putting that on my list of restaurants I need to visit.

      Have a great weekend!

      Sincerely,
      Ambre

The Gelly Roll pens are amazing! They come in so many interesting colors and the ink is so smooth! That company is honestly amazing! They have so many good quality products that make writing and art so fun!:)

It is great meeting you and I look forward to working with you in this class!

    Sincerely,
    Ambre
